Many employers rush through the interview process

Business owners who hire bad employees are critically damaging their company, reveals new research
Hiring new employees, who are not correctly suited to the role, can run the risk of wasting valuable time and money.
Chris Smith, founder of yourpeoplemarket.com, believes that there are three key mistakes that many employees make when recruiting:
- Failure to act quickly: Many employers leave recruitment until the last minute
so they often miss out key aspects of the skills that they require.
- First impressions of a candidate: Employers may be blown away by a particular candidate’s personality but that person may be covering up their limitations and serious faults.
- Hiring an over-qualified candidate: Recruiting someone who is overly qualified for a position runs the risk of that candidate becoming bored and unhappy quickly during the job.
Chris Smith said, ‘Businesses can end up in a sticky situation if they do not avoid these typical mistakes.’
