The UK is becoming even more popular among tourists from Europe
In the last year the UK has increased in popularity among tourists seeking a travel bargain
Research provided by hotel comparison site Trivago has indicated that Britain is seeing the arrival of more holiday goers.
In 2010 the UK was the eighth most popular travel destination. This year though, it has jumped into fifth.
Trivago conducted the study by analysing the search requests made on their websites around 24 countries.
Reports suggest that the increase in tourists in Britain may be due to the exchange rate; six years ago, when sterling was at its strongest, European holidaymakers were able to get 0.66 pounds to the euro. However, currently the figure is 0.89 pounds to the euro.
