Cocktails to commemorate Royal wedding
The William and Kate cocktails are easy to make

Plates, t-shirts and even bird houses, there are many items that you can purchase to commemorate the Royal wedding but now there are also cocktails available that are named after Prince William and his fiancé

Since Prince William announced his engagement to Kate Middleton, a variety of different products have appeared on shop shelves with the couples’ faces, so it was only a short time before they had drinks created in their honor.

Created by The Bitter Truth, each of the cocktails are inspired by the individual that it represents. For example, the William Cocktail concoction is described by the company as being robust, masculine and classy but with a modern twist, much like the prince himself. Whilst the Kate cocktail is feminine, refreshing and has a distinctive flavour.

The William Cocktail, derived from the classic cocktail that is detailed in William Boothby’s 1891 manual, is intoxicatingly rich with a mix of caramel and vanilla tones blended in.

On the other hand, the Kate Cocktail, a modern twist on the popular mojito, combines that tastes of elderflower, mint and cucumber with champagne to create a refreshing beverage, perfect for the warmer evenings.

If you fancy creating a royal cocktail, you just need to follow these simple steps:

William Cocktail
1. Add 45ml Barcelo Imperial Rum, 20ml Sweet Vermouth, 20ml Brut Champagne, 2 dashes of The Bitter Truth Aromatic Bitters into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
2. Pour the mix into a Martini glass and top with Champagne
3. Garnish your drink with a Maraschino cherry and then sit back and enjoy!

Kate Cocktail
1. Add 45ml Hayman’s Old Gin, 20ml The Bitter Truth Elderflower liqueur, 20ml Brut Champagne, a sprig of fresh mint, cucumber slices and a wedge of lemon into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
2. Add some crushed ice into a glass and pour the cocktail mix over the ice.
3. Garnish your cocktail with a sprig of mint and a slice of cucumber and then sit back and enjoy!
