People have been encouraged to eat walnuts as part of a healthy diet
Cashews, almonds and hazel nuts, people have always been advised by health professionals to indulge in these healthy snacks. However, experts have now found that, compared to other nuts, walnuts contain the highest level of antioxidants.
The study, carried out by scientists in Pennsylvania, revealed that walnuts have higher nutritional qualities compared to other nuts, such as peanuts and pecans.
The walnuts were found to contain antioxidants that are known to help protect the body against disease.
The strength of antioxidants in walnuts were found to be 15 times more powerful than vitamin E, which is also known to protect the body.
However, if you can’t always get your hands on walnuts don’t worry too much as all nuts are healthy and nutritious, unless of course they have been salted.
It has previously been reported that eating nuts regularly can reduce the risk of heart disease and other health problems.
