Fish like salmon, sardines, mackerel and tuna are high in the essential oils which help reduce breast cancer.

A study published in the Cancer Epidemiology journal has shown that women may be able to significantly cut the risk of breast cancer by taking regular fish oil supplements.
Among 35,000 middle-aged women who took the supplements regularly over six years the incidence of breast cancer was reduced by almost a third (32 per cent).
Previous dietary studies on the matter had been inconsistent, but this new study appears to be firm evidence, with researchers from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Centre in Seattle concluding that taking fish oil supplements could result in higher levels of the omega-3 fatty acids that bring the benefit.
Dr Marilyn Glenville, leading women’s health expert and author of The Natural Health Bible for Women, explains why fish oils are so essential to support breast health.
“Omega 3 fatty acids are powerful anti-inflammatories and it is now thought that most serious illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer including breast cancer are caused by inflammation. If you do not have enough of these Omega 3 oils then there can be chronic, persistent inflammation in your body which can increase the risk of a serious problem like breast cancer.
EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexenoic acid) are found in oily fish like salmon, sardines, mackerel and tuna. The EPA and DHA produce the anti-inflammatory effect and also help to reduce the creation of pro-inflammatory acids. So, when choosing fish oils supplements look at the dose: it is the levels of EPA and DHA that are important, not the total fish oil. So buy a supplement that gives you a daily amount of at least 700mg EPA and 500mg DHA.”
