Brits do not take their health seriously enough
|
Nearly 45% of those who took part in an online survey have confessed that they don’t put as much emphasis on keeping healthy as they should
The research, from the Scottish Widows, has revealed that despite their best efforts, Brits are struggling to make space in their hectic lives to manage their health and fitness.
When Britain competed to host the 2012 Olympics Games and Paralympics part of the hope was that it would leave us a healthier nation. However, with just two years to go until the world’s eyes are on the country we have an uphill battle to face.
Answers revealed that 35% of participants are simply not that worried about their health at the moment as they have other more pressing issues. Whilst 23% admitted that they always put their families health over their own.
It was warned that this attitude might be putting people at serious risks.
“We live in busy times but building in enough time to look after your health as well as having some fun will allow you to reap the benefits”, said medal winner Sarah Storey from the Scottish Widows Ambassador for the London 2012 Games.
Millions of people tuned in to watch the World Cup 2010 so there needs to be a push to get Brits off the sofa watching sport and actually taking part.
