Nearly three quarters of homeowners have not carried out background checks on workers that they have let into their house, a new survey has revealed
You would think that protecting your home against unsolicited intruders would be obvious but the study, carried out by 192.com, found that many home owners have been very trusting when it comes to letting workers, such as builders, nannies and housekeepers, into their home.
Although some have had good experiences with these unchecked workers, 1 in 10 admitted that they had been ripped off.
