Few people will be attending a Church service over Christmas

The vast majority of the British public will not be attending a Church service over the Christmas period even though they will be celebrating the occasion, reveals a new survey
The study, carried out by YouGov, found that 67 per cent of the people surveyed admitted that even though they will be exchanging presents and celebrating the day, they would not be attending a Church service over Christmas.
The results revealed that many people view the Christmas season as an opportunity to see family rather than a chance to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
A chance to have a ‘break from work’ was also deemed an important factor of the holidays.
Out of the 2,092 people surveyed, just 11 per cent said that they would be attending the traditional Mass service on Christmas Eve and another 8 per cent said that they would be attending a service on the surrounding days.
