Some employees are decorating their computer screens with tinsel

Managers have been criticised for being ‘Scrooge-like’ after a study revealed that 55 per cent of offices have spent absolutely nothing on Christmas decorations
The research, carried out by Maris Interiors, an office design company, found that festive cheer is at an all time low in office departments.
The depressing results revealed that only 12 per cent of the companies who were surveyed had put a Christmas tree in the office.
However the most popular decoration of choice was tinsel, with 45 per cent of offices putting it up around computer screens or on the ceiling.
It is thought that saving money is the main reason for companies deciding not to decorate the office this year.
Michael Howard, Maris Interiors Chairman, said, ‘This is slightly depressing to hear - even in these austere times, companies should perhaps think of employee morale before cutting back completely on the Christmas decorations. A few quid on some fairy lights might go an awful long way.’
