New mums feel intimidated by trendy younger work colleagues, finds a new study
When there is a new baby to care for it can be difficult to spend time on yourself making sure that you are in with the latest trends and many new mothers are feeling the strain.
The study, carried out by Persil Colour, found that 44 per cent of new mums feel that they are stuck in a rut when it comes to keeping up with the latest new look.
This feeling has also affected women when it comes to moving up in their career. The survey revealed that a shocking 44 per cent of women feel that they have been overlooked for a promotion because of the way they looked.
The study also found that 54 per cent of new mums blame their insecurity on feeling over-weight as they fail to get back to their pre-baby body.
However, award-winning stylist Lisa Talbot, claims that women do not have to feel this way.
‘My advice would be to invest a little and create a simple ‘working wardrobe’ of basics items that are suitable for helping you dress the part for any occasion,’ she said.
