Botox is very popular, and a painless way to take years off

If you want to turn back the clock without going under the knife, use our guide to non-invasive cosmetic procedures
Sagging jowls, frown-lines, crow’s feet around the eyes, deep lines from nose to lips… these are natural signs of ageing that, unfortunately, lotions and potions can only go so far in treating. Luckily, there are non-invasive cosmetic procedures that – as long as you do your research, assess the risks and choose a qualified and experienced clinician – can help improve your appearance. These are some of the most common:
Botox
Dr. Marco La Malfa, Head Cosmetic Surgeon at Skin Deep Clinics (www.skindeep.me.uk) says, “The Botox needle is so ultrafine, it’s almost completely painless. If Botox is administered properly by a professional it can take years off your appearance in a natural, safe, and instant way, and last for three to six months.” Costs start from around £100.
Injectable fillers
These tackle superficial lines around eyes, nose and mouth and can also be used for lip enhancement. Dr Mike Comins, of the Hans Place Practice in Knightsbridge (www.hansplace.com) recommends Sculptra, “This is biocompatible, and biodegradable, so it can’t harm the body and it restores the fullness of your face by stimulating your own facial collagen production, providing natural looking results for up to three years.” Restylane Vital is also good for lifting a sagging jaw-line, but several sessions are needed at a cost of around £500.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
For skin rejuvenation this is fantastic, especially if you have broken veins, pigmentation or redness (expect to pay around £125 a session). After a cooling gel is applied, the handheld IPL device is passed over your skin, causing the sensation of being lightly flicked with a rubber band. Usually six to nine sessions are recommended (www.consultingroom.com can help you find a clinic).
Laser treatment
There are many types of laser treatment, but they nearly always give good results if you have sun damage or age spots. Try the Pearl Laser, which needs only one treatment to improve skin, and the new Palomar StarLux 1540 (around £350 per session) is less painful than most.
Skin peels
There are several ‘levels’, but the commonest chemical peel is a mild glycolic acid, which takes off the top layer of dead skin cells. Great for old scars or skin that has an uneven texture, a peel may cause you to feel a slight stinging sensation, but your skin should calm within a few hours. Costs start from as little as £60. Ask your clinic for a consultation to assess what level you need.
Microdermabrasion
This blasts fine microparticles across the skin to boost radiance and encourage faster cell turnover, just perfect if you’re starting to see your first real wrinkles. Your skin may feel a little tender for a day or two, but a course of four to six sessions (at about £50-70 each time) will result in softer skin.

My dad recently noticed that his Palm Treo with Windows on it changed the clock on its own to a small analog clock instead of the digital clock. I messed around with it for over 30 minutes and couldn’t find anything that would change it back.rolex watches
