Londoners were found to be the least happy

Those over 60 and living in Scotland are the happiest in the country, a new survey has revealed
The results come as the Government continues to measure the population’s wellbeing and the campaign, Action for Happiness, has been trying to take positive steps towards improving the nations wellbeing.
In a study, carried out by YouGov, the results showed that people living in Scotland were the happiest, whilst those living in London were the least happy.
When it comes to age, the study found that the 60 plus age group are the happiest, while those in the 49-59 age category are the least happy.
The Government hopes, that by measuring the nation’s wellbeing that they will develop a more rounded view of the impact of policies on society; a so called ‘happiness index.’
Despite criticisms, Prime Minister David Cameron has said that establishing what makes people happy is ‘the serious business of Government,’ and he strongly rejects claims that the initiative is ‘woolly and impractical.’
