Heated towel rails provide handy storage too
|
Tired of having to squeeze into your small cluttered bathroom and tripping over used towels and your child’s rubber ducks?
We all dream of a large and spacious bathroom but unfortunately not all of our wishes are granted. So, until your Fairy Godmother decides to sprinkle some fairy dust, Nick Rowland, product manager at Heritage Bathrooms, offers some helpful quick fixes:
Wall hung features
Wall hung sanitaryware is a great way of making the floor area look bigger and creating the illusion of space, while basins with a wider surface area provide extra room for storing your pampering supplies. In cloakrooms or en-suites, try corner units to make use of every nook.
Storage solutions
A bathroom with built-in storage is the ideal solution when space is limited. Bathroom furniture is hugely popular at the moment and there are many styles to choose from in a host of finishes and materials to complement your décor. Where space is lacking and you’re struggling for room, chose a suite with plenty of drawers and built in shelves so that you have lots of places to neatly store your bathroom essentials. Vanity units and wall cabinets provide a more contemporary look to the bathroom, while still providing ample storage for towels and toiletries.
Stylish heating
Once you’ve got your suite and furniture sorted, have a look at your radiator. Large Victorian style radiators may look amazing but they can take up valuable space. Consider switching it for an equally stylish heated towel rail, not only does this provide handy storage place for your towels it will keep them nice and warm for when you get out of the bath.
Splash of colour
Using various shades of the same colour can visually expand a smaller bathroom. By using narrow horizontal stripes, you will make maximum impact in your small space. To spice up your colour scheme, you can always inject colour with towels and matching accessories.
Mirror mirror on the wall
Mirrors reflect light back into a room; this can help to make the room seem bigger. However, make sure that you stick to a size that’s appropriate, if the mirror is too big it could overwhelm the space.
