Royal Mail search for 18,000 extra Christmas staff
The positions are available between November and January

The Royal Mail have revealed that they are recruiting staff members to help them with deliveries this Christmas

With a surge in people posting cards and presents during the lead up to Christmas, the Royal Mail often feel the pressure. To help them cope with the increase, they are looking to hire 18,000 extra staff.

The temporary positions will be available between mid November and early January, with the peak of the extra work occurring in December.

The extra employees will work in the mail and distribution centres across the UK.

The number of Christmas temps that will be hired this year has dropped by 2,000, this is partly due to the fall in postal volumes.

Last year, more than 70,000 people applied to work for the Royal Mail over the Christmas period.
