Silly Bandz set to cause a storm
Both adults and children are wearing Silly Bandz

The latest US craze of Silly Bandz is making its way into the British market

The silicone bracelets, that appear so simple, have caused a storm in America with children and adults alike.

Silly Bandz are elastic wristbands that come in a variety of colours and shapes – there are even some made to look like the latest teenage heart-throb Justin Bieber.

Designed by Robert Croak, the bands were originally sold on the internet as toys but have since leaked into the fashion world.

The bands may just look like a childish accessory, but celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Agyness Deyn have already been spotted showing theirs off.

Claire Wood, a spokeswoman for firebox.com, a British retailer who are currently stocking the Silly Bandz, said, ‘A lot of adults come to buy from our site too. I definitely would not say that they are just for children.’

However the Silly Bandz have already been criticised by some who say that you might as well just wear an elastic band instead of spending money on a fashion that will soon fade.
