From surfing the internet and sending instant messages to looking up directions and playing games, smartphones have become a part of our everyday lives, so it’s not surprising that we feel lost without one.
From the iPhone to the HTC, the study, carried out by Ofcom, found that 60 per cent of teenagers feel that they are “highly” addicted to their smartphones.
A spokesperson for Just Call, said, “The results of this survey by
Ofcom are really very interesting, because they show just how often people are choosing to use their mobile phones”
The study found that 81 per cent of smartphone users make more calls and send more texts each day than regular mobile users.
The spokesperson added, ‘The impact of the smartphone has been considerable over the last few years, and since 2005, they have grown in popularity, use, style and efficiency, giving them a £3.7 million stake of the mobile phone market by December 2010.
