Winter doesn't have to mean pasty skin!

Winter doesn’t necessarily mean white, pasty skin. Invest in a good fake tan and follow the tan commandments for a perfect, streak-free tan
• To protect the palms of your hands invest in a mitt or latex gloves.
• Backs are often a stretch too far for most of us when self-tanning, so try a back applicator or persuade a willing person to help, just make sure they wash their hands afterwards!
• Don’t rush. It’s never a good idea to start applying your self-tan five minutes before you’re due to leave the house. Leave plenty of time for application. Tanning works better when your body is at rest and that way, you wake up in the morning looking every inch the golden goddess.
• Start from the ankles and work your way up to your bikini line with long sweeping motions. For potential stumbling blocks such as knees and ankles, mix a little moisturiser with your tanning lotion to prevent a build-up of colour.
• Use big strokes to apply over your collarbone, breasts and arms.
• Leave to dry for at least 15-20 minutes before dressing, so grab a cup of tea or a glass of vino, your copy of Beauty Angels and relax. (Check your curtains are drawn first though!)
