Top five festive make-up tips
Bring on festive cheer with a little shimmer

It’s that time of the year when bold colour, sparkle, and glitter is everywhere you look, but how can you incorporate festive cheer and all things bright and beautiful in your make-up?

Needless to say there is a clear line between looking classy and kitschy this Christmas, so here are a few tips to help you tread that line carefully.

1. A bit of sparkle goes a long way. Golden, bronze or silver hues are classic metallic colours that always help intensify a look and when partnered with a hot red lipstick you get that perfect balance of class and festivity all rolled into one.

2.Tinsel always brightens up everything around it, similarly using the right highlighting make-up can help you attract attention to the best features on your face. Cheekbones, brow bones or the inner corner of your eyes are the best places to dab on some highlighter.

3. Match your metallic clothes with your make-up. Choose one sparkling item from your closet and match it with your eye shadow or highlighter. There may be a slight risk of going overboard, but if you stick to one colour and don’t mix up your metallics too much, you should be good to go!

4. A lighter look could be a way to carry off glitter too, by substituting your eye shadow with an eye pencil. Instead of worrying about powders, an eye pencil would offer the best no-fuss option.

5. Golden accessories are everywhere. Try anything from golden encrusted false lashes to diamante jewels, which can be worn on the corners of your eyes. Once again keeping a balanced look is key, so team your flashy accessories with a nude lip and natural cheeks.
