Wimbledon sandwich launched
Strawberries and cream are the fillings inside a new sandwich

A strawberries and cream sandwich is coming out across the UK as a mark to the famous Wimbledon tennis tournament

With the tournament underway the sandwich is on sale in Tesco stores. Created by the supermarket chain, the sandwich is said to be the first of its kind around the world.

The idea was taken from Wimbledon where the fruity summer treat is popular among spectators.

To mark the quintessentially British snack the sandwich is being sold in unique Union Jack flag packaging.

Tesco have also stated that the new sandwich is a celebration of the biggest crop of home-grown strawberries in 20 years.
