Men and women sharply differ when it comes to finances

When it comes to paying on a first date, over half of women want to split the bill, while men still prefer to pay its entirety
No matter how well the date has gone, it is always an awkward moment when the bill arrives and you fumble around in your bag searching for your purse.
The study, carried out by First Direct, found the opinions between men and women sharply differ when it comes to finances.
Shifting away from the traditional dating rules when the man was expected to foot the bill, the study found that 58 per cent of women would prefer to go halves.
Just 29 per cent of men thought that it was the right to ask their date to pay up.
These results suggest that women have become independent and like to pay their own way, they no longer need to rely on their man.
Richard Brown, senior savings product manager at First Direct, said, ‘As the royal wedding approaches, it would be fascinating to know whether Prince William and Kate split the bill.’
