Washing up is a daily task for most women
|
A new survey has found that 5,445 hours of a woman’s life is spent doing the washing up
The study, carried out by InSinkErator, looked at the habits of women up and down the country and found that women in Yorkshire spent the most time tied to the kitchen sink.
On the other hand, a woman in London was likely to spend the least time doing the dishes as they were more likely to own a dishwasher.
The researchers have blamed the new generation of ‘foodies’ for the increase in time spent washing up dirty dishes as people spend a lot more time eating than they did in the past.
Washing up can seem like a quick and easy job but when all the time is added up it can provide surprising results.
Ashley Munden, a spokes person for InSinkErator, said, ‘We were astonished just how much time the nation’s women spend working at the kitchen sink.’
