Why do people choose to use CBD oil?
CBD is an extract of the cannabis or hemp plant used by millions of people around the world as a natural supplement for a wide range of ailments, and to promote general wellbeing. A recent major study of CBD users found CBD oil was most commonly used for pain, anxiety, focus, depression and sleep disorders, but also for the symptoms of migraines and headaches, PTSD, nausea, cancer, allergies, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s. Over 65% of those who took part in the study said that CBD oil treated their conditions ‘very well’ or ‘moderately well’ without the use of other remedies or medications.

How does it work?
Our bodies have an internal network of receptors called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS is the largest receptor system in the body. This system helps support a stable, balanced body state called homeostasis across internal functions including appetite and metabolism, pain, inflammation, the immune system, mood, stress, sleep and the way our organs work. CBD and other cannabinoids fit into the body’s ECS, helping to support our body’s processes and overall wellness. CBD also affects the levels of other neurotransmitters and hormones in the body including serotonin, which is known to help stabilise mood and promote a sense of wellbeing.
Is CBD oil safe for everyone?
A report by the World Health Organization on CBD found no evidence of addiction or public health problems related to CBD and it’s important to remember that it does not have the psychoactive effects associated with THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, so it won’t get you high. As a precautionary measure, the UK’s Food Standards Agency advises that vulnerable people, such as pregnant and breastfeeding women and those taking medication, do not use CBD and that healthy adults take no more than 70mg a day. In general, it is sensible to talk to your doctor if you are considering taking CBD oil.

Can I give my pets CBD oil?
CBD in small amounts is safe for pets. A recent study in the US of over 1,000 pet owners found that after trying CBD on their pets, 9 out of 10 participants in the study would recommend CBD to others. When buying CBD for your pet, always look for companies like ours that have all their products tested by an independent laboratory and will provide certificates of analysis for every batch they sell. CBD oil is different from other cannabis products, it’s not marijuana and doesn’t contain high levels of THC. THC can harm canines of all sizes, so only choose oils that contain ‘no detectable THC’.
What is the difference between CBD oil and CBG oil?
CBG (Cannabigerol) is the first cannabinoid the hemp plant makes, and as it matures it turns that CBG into CBD, THC and all other cannabinoids. Both CBG and CBD work by interacting with the body’s endocannabinoid system, but CBG is considered a ‘rising star’ among cannabinoids for its range of applications.
