How do they improve soil structure and drainage?
LAVA-LITE SOIL RESTORE+ when dug into the soil will provide pockets of air to remain within the soil structure. This is because of the tiny voids within the LAVA-LITE itself. LAVA-LITE does not breakdown or degrade so these will remain in the soil thus reducing compaction and aiding drainage.
What is LAVA-LITE made from?
As its name suggests LAVA-LITE is a by product of a volcanic eruption and is formed during the pyroclastic flow. It is during this time of immense heat in its formation that gives LAVA-LITE its structure and moisture retaining capability.

How do I use them?
LAVA-LITE products are simple to use and provide great results. With any product it is either sprinkled or placed as a pot topper, mixed with compost or a potting soil, dug into the soil, placed around the base of plants susceptible to slug and snail attack, used as a supportive media for orchids instead of bark chips, as a gravel for cacti and succulents, and great for use around bonsai and in terrariums where moisture is key.

What is the story behind LAVA-LITE?
It was back in 2018 the founders of LAVA-LITE, brothers Dominic and Kieron Tompkin, discovered that a volcanic stone they placed around some garden pots during the drought of that year had not only survived the difficult conditions but had actually thrived.
