All You Need to Know About Eurovision 2025

The 69th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Basel, Switzerland following Nemo’s victory at the Grand Final in May 2024 with the song The Code.

BBC Studios will once again produce the BBC’s coverage and with the countdown already underway, here’s everything you need to know about Eurovision 2025 on the BBC so far…

When is Eurovision 2025?

The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will take place in St. Jakobshalle, Basel, on Saturday 17 May with the Semi-Finals taking place on Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 May.

How to watch Eurovision 2025

You’ll be able to watch the Grand Final and the Semi Finals live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, and listen live on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.

Meet the Presenters

Hazel Brugger, Michelle Hunziker and Sandra Studer are your hosts for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

All three will present the Grand Final, while Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer will also host the Semi-Finals.

Brugger is an award-winning stand-up comedian and presenter. Born in the USA, she grew up near Zurich and now lives in the Darmstadt region of Germany. Hunziker grew up in Ostermundigen near Bern and is one of Switzerland’s best-known international personalities. Studer started her career in 1991 as Switzerland’s Eurovision Song Contest participant. Performing with the stage name Sandra Simó, she secured 5th place with the song Canzone Per Te.

First Semi-Final

The first Semi-Final will be on iPlayer and BBC One on 13 May and the following countries are taking part:

First half:

  • Sweden
  • Ukraine
  • Slovenia
  • Iceland
  • Estonia
  • Poland
  • Portugal

Second half:

  • Netherlands
  • Azerbaijan
  • Albania
  • San Marino
  • Belgium
  • Cyprus
  • Croatia
  • Norway

The exact running order will be decided closer to the time and Italy, Spain and Switzerland will be able to vote during this Semi-Final.

Second Semi-Final

The first Semi-Final will be on iPlayer and BBC One on 13 May and the following countries are taking part:

First half:

  • Austria
  • Lithuania
  • Armenia
  • Montenegro
  • Greece
  • Ireland
  • Australia
  • Latvia

Second half:

  • Czechia
  • Israel
  • Malta
  • Finland
  • Denmark
  • Luxembourg
  • Georgia
  • Serbia

The exact running order will be decided closer to the time and France, Germany and the United Kingdom will be able to vote during this Semi-Final.

UK Eurovision 2025 Act and Song

David previously worked closely with the BBC team in 2022 as Manager of Sam Ryder when the United Kingdom achieved runner-up position at Eurovision in Turin.

The search for next year’s act and song has been underway for several months with UK record Labels, Publishers, Songwriters, BBC Music and BBC Introducing all playing their part to find the UK act and song for Eurovision 2025.
