Problems such as calluses and athlete’s foot can cause misery. Where do you look for the right products to care for your feet? We asked the experts from Dermatonics
What are the most common foot care problems?
In clinical practice the most common foot ailments are calluses (hard skin) and nail problems. Calluses can be painful, often causing a hot burning sensation. Other common skin problems include fungal infections. Mechanical issues may also present themselves such as arch pain, ankle sprains and toe deformities.
What Dermatonics products address these problems?
Our 25% Urea Once Heel Balm is effective in treating callus. Urea is a natural moisturising factor that exists in human skin. When applied as a 25% concentration, the Balm is keratolytic. This means it removes hard skin. For moisturising skin, we have a 10% Dry Skin Balm for more general use. Another very useful product is Soothing Foot Cream. Containing 3% colloidal oatmeal, this cream is an ‘anti-itch’ formula which can help combat the itch from athlete’s foot.
What are the active ingredients in Dermatonics products?
Active ingredient is 25 percent Urea. This ingredient is strongly supported by Lanolin, Beeswax and dimethicone all of which help create or trap moisture in the skin and reduce trans-epidermal water loss.
