Oscars Nominations Include Some Shocks

The 95th Academy Awards, better know as the Oscars, have announced their 2023 nominations, honouring movies released in 2022.

The Oscars awards ceremony takes place on Sunday, March 12th, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.

There are a couple of shocks in the Oscars nominations, including Everything Everywhere All At Once, an indie sci-fi comedy drama starring Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis, leading the nominations with 11 categories, Netflix anti-war movie All Quiet on the Western Front being the only production nominated for best picture from a streaming service, and James Cameron’s blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water receiving relatively few nominations.

British Actor Bill Nighy receives his first nomination for Best Actor Oscar at the age of 73 for his part in Living, while Colin Farrell is also nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for The Banshees Of Inisherin.

Here’s the list of nominees for the main awards – who do you think deserves to win at the Oscars?
