The Queen Gets Her Own Barbie Doll to Mark Her Platinum Jubilee

Toy manufacturer Mattel is marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and her 96th birthday with the release of a limited edition Barbie doll of the monarch.

Inspired by her look from the period of her 60th anniversary on the throne, the doll is dressed in an ivory gown accessorised with a blue ribbon, white gloves, decorations of order and a tiara based on Queen Mary’s Fringe Tiara, which the Queen wore for her wedding to Prince Philip.

The detailing also includes pink and blue ribbons and ribbons and a silver brooch representing the Garter Star, the insignia of the highest order of chivalry in the UK.

The doll is part of Mattel’s Barbie Tribute Collection, launched last year in celebration of “visionary individuals with an outstanding impact and legacy within society”. It is packaged in a 3D box with images of Buckingham Palace and the throne room.
