The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee: The Royal Horses

Data from myracing.com shows that the Queen has won nearly £7 million in prize money over the past 30 years, with 451 total wins on the books, and according to Harper’s Bazaar UK, she reads Racing Post every morning, and takes an active interest in the breeding of her animals, even visiting the Royal Stud, where all her horses are foaled, at Sandringham every summer.

Last year, The Queen received a special honour recognizing her support for British flat racing, when she was inducted into the QIPCO British Champions Series Hall of Fame. Her Majesty had 33 winners in 2021, her best ever tally, through one of her most cherished hobbies. The successful team of horses has been led by Reach For The Moon, who raced into contention for the 2022 Cazoo Derby, which coincides with the Platinum Jubilee weekend in the summer.

So perhaps even that elusive Derby winner is just around the corner?
