What Are the 10 Most Famous Celebrity Perfumes?

SARAH JESSICA PARKER – LOVELY

It’s said that the Sex and the City star already knew when she met her perfumier what scent she wanted – she had been making her own by mixing a $7 drug store musk, an Egyptian oil bought from a Lower Broadway street seller, and finally an expensive male cologne.

Her dream was realised by the Lancaster creative perfume house – one of the most prominent houses for helping designers and celebrities translate their fragrance ambitions into reality.

They assigned Clement Gavarry and Laurent Le Guernec to the project, two New York-based Frenchmen with roles at International Flavours and Fragrances.

The fragrance opens with gorgeous notes of lavender, mandarin orange, bergamot, martini, and palisander rosewood. The heart then brings forth patchouli, orchid, and narcissus before aroma settles on musk, woodsy tones, cedar, and white amber.

The feminine vitality of the fragrance is reflected in the pretty pink colouring of the bottle. The ovoid decanter is elegant in its simplicity, with the perfume’s name and its creator printed in modest, gold capitals in the centre of the bottle. The egg-shaped form is topped with a pristine looking spherical stopper.

Everfumed website describes it as “well suited to an office environment, for feeling pulled together and professional. It’s best suited to day-time wear in the summer.”

PARIS HILTON – CAN CAN

Socialite, reality TV star and video performer Paris Hilton launched Can Can in 2007 – the nose behind the fragrance was Jean Claude Delville. Top notes are nectarine, blackcurrant and clementine; middle notes are wild orchid and orange blossom; base notes are amber, musk and woodsy notes.

This was Paris’ fourth fragrance for women, her seventh in general – the fragrance is inspired by the film Moulin Rouge and the song Lady Marmalade. Paris’ perfume fortune alone is now valued at $1.5b. Paris Hilton cites Elizabeth Taylor (her great aunt, once married to her grandfather’s brother) as an inspiration in the perfume business.
