9. Make sure you have the right brush for the job. Many ranges include different sizes for jobs such as walls, trims and sashes, and different mixtures of bristles for different types of paint. Don’t dip the brush all the way to the handle. Any more than half-way up the bristles and you risk messy drips and wasted paint
10. Don’t paint in short strokes. A good, long stroke of at least 12 inches gives a smoother finish. Don’t leave brushes or rollers wet during a break. If you don’t have time to clean them thoroughly, wrap them in plastic bags and put them in the fridge overnight.
