With the commitment to sustainable development Dune has been built, where possible, using recycled or salvaged material including wood from a Kerala house, a reclaimed rubber planter house, Chettinad Palaces and colonial houses – and they are decorated by local artists and craftspeople. Water is solar-heated, wastewater is recycled, lamps are low-consumption.
Dune is located north of the former French colony Pondicherry, close to the utopian township Auroville and 80 miles south of Chennai airport with flights direct from Heathrow on British Airways.
